July kicked my butt. No way around this one. Between working 30 hours a week and the class, I didn’t have much time to read. And what I did read was mostly for fall books. *sigh* So this is some slim pickings.
My favorite this month (though you have to give it until the second or third chapter):
Ms. Marvel: Civil War II
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate
I hope you’re having a better summer reading! What are your favorites?

Ah, Ribsy. If I still have a copy in my library, I should give that a reread. Spill Zone was rather brutal, so I’m glad you had Cleary to balance it out. Hope August is a little better.
I’m reading “Midnight at Austenland” by Shannon Hale. It’s a nice summer romance between me and my fantasies. Ahh. Mr. Darcy. I share Shannon’s love of him and Colin Firth.
I do love the Austenland series, though I didn’t like Midnight as much. Still, they are delightful escapes!
I am hoping to read The Hate U Give this month if I can get over my reading slump. It looks good.
You had a better month than I did. For some reason I had a hard time focusing on reading too much over the summer. Now I need to buckle down and finish my district’s “Reader’s Rally” books which is for a quiz-bowl thing we do every year. I did read Wolf Hollow and Pax from the list. Both good but not great books that everyone seems to love more than I do. I didn’t hate them or anything, I just thought they were good. But not great. We’ll see if the students change my mind when we discuss them.
I’m with you on Wolf Hollow; it was good but not brilliant. Pax I had an actively negative reaction to, and so refuse (mostly) to acknowledge that I’d read it at all….
