The Book Nut 
I read this several times in grade school and remember loving it… and then I reread it a couple of years ago and felt very differently. Not only was it quite offensive (not that I always subscribe to the whole “politically correct” thing) but I also found it rather boring. It always suprises me when I go back to books I really liked from years ago and see them from a vastly different perspective.
