Help Me, Please!

So, Renee over at Renee’s Book of the Day has started doing book-theemed podcasts. She’s done two, one for December and one for January. Since it sounded like fun, I called in my holiday book for December, and the podcast turned out okay (though I sound like a bit of a dork). January was winter-themed books, and again I called in. And, as it turned out, I was the ONLY ONE.

Okay, I’m all for participating in things, but not when it’s just ME. So, I’m sending out a plea. I’m planning on calling in with my romance book (and I’ve got a good idea, but you’ll have to wait and see what it is). But please, PLEASE don’t let me be the only caller again.

Trust me. It just wouldn’t be good.

I’m begging you. PLEASE. Call.

  1. I really want to help you, but I don’t know if I can do this one. I’d have to think of a book that fits, and then make a phone call too and talk on the phone for a long time? I can’t even talk on the phone with my husband for more than a minute.

  2. You are too funny! I know how you feel when something like that happens. I had a movie night for some women in the neighborhood, and NO ONE CAME!! That’s right, I was there by myself. They convinced me to do it again, so we’ll see if I get anyone to come.

As far as calling in, oh, I hate to be on the phone. I will do my best to help you out to not be the only one again.

Thanks for doing this blog! I come to you for a good book all the time. I love your reviews. Thanks again!

  3. Oh Amira, you don’t have to talk for a long time! Really. There’s a 2 minute limit on the voice mail, so if you just want to call in with a book (you do have to think of a book that fits) and just read a passage, that’d be fine. You can do that, right??

And Susan, I hate talking on the phone too. But I also hate it when I have an idea and no one participates, so I try to participate whenever I can. πŸ™‚

  4. I feel so bad that I’ve missed the first podcast. It’s such a great idea too! Hmmm, maybe I’ll find the courage to call in and read a love poem or something. I hate my voice on tape πŸ™‚

  5. I actually did my first pod cast – I read out a poem. I posted it on my blog but there were 0 comments. Now I am read out an entire book – my first of the TBR challenge that Miz Books is hosting. I am going to be posting my favorite parts up and will make the entire book down-loadable as an audio book. I will try to call in but I am way north so the long distance thing is an issue. How does it work? I call in and leave a message with what I want to say?

Thanks for giving me the heads up on this though. I was thinking myself of starting a weekly radio show on books in podcast form. Its great to look at other templates!

  6. Yay Nessie! Thanks! (Now I know I won’t be the only one.)

Iliana — I hate my voice on tape, too… that’s why I think I sound like such a dork doing these things. πŸ™‚

  7. I’m going to give it a try. I actually have 2 books in mind, even though I do not usually read romances. Thanks for the encouragement, sometimes that’s what it takes.

I listened to your review on podcast. You did great and it gave me more of an idea what to do. I added Dark Rising to my TBR list.
