August is at an end, and I would have gotten this up yesterday, but canning and swimming (it was 100 degrees… finally!) and the laptop being in the shop, which means we’re down to one computer. Again. And while I love my daughters, getting computer time inbetween all their needs is pretty difficult. How am I managing this? Why, we put on Ever After.
Also: on Tuesday, the new covers of the Harry Potter books came out, and I was literally jumping for joy. One of my managers at work was amused and snapped the following to go up on Facebook.

What did you enjoy this past month?
The Book Nut 
Oh my gosh, I would've been jumping too! I need to make a B&N just to see them. I've been meaning to read The Running Dream for ages, but worry it will be too sentimental, or pat. Convince me otherwise. 🙂 And I loved HGS's first novel, so I should probably check the new one out. The MG label is putting me off.

Running Dream isn't sentimental, nor did I find it pat. It's honestly one girls' struggle to come to terms with the loss of her leg, and to learn to run again. I found it straight-forward and enjoyable.
As for Counting by 7s, it really isn't a YA book by any means. But I thoroughly enjoyed HGS's writing. And the way she spins connections.

It's been kind of cold for August hereabouts, so we haven't been swimming…but I guess I'd rather have that than 100 degrees!
I hope your laptop comes home soon. I just bought one, because even with just two competitors, it was too tense.

ohh la la! These are great books to read, I've read one of the books of Cassandra Clare: The Mortal Instruments – City of Bones, it's not on the lists though however, I found interesting. Action, fantasy, love story. For me, it's better than twilight. 🙂 Shakespeare adaptations for kids
