If I ever went to one…
I would want to go to a signing for John Green, Shannon Hale, Mo Willems, Jackson Pearce, Rick Riordan, Sarah Beth Durst, Scott Westerfield, Beth Kephart, among others.
I would probably take one or more of my daughters, since they love the above authors as much as I do.
I would hope I’d say something intelligent, or witty, or at least memorable, and not dissolve into a puddle of giggles. (Which, honestly, could very well happen.)
I would also wish for a hug, but probably not get one. I would get a picture, though.
I would also hope that, if it’s someone my very cool friends loved and they hadn’t had the chance to see them yet, I’d be wonderful enough to get a book signed for them.
Kind of like what my friends (and very cool sister did for me):

And then I would treasure them always. š
If there was any author you could meet, who would it be? Or, if you’ve been to a signing, what’s the best one you’ve been to?

Megan Whalen Turner once stopped on an eight hour drive with her family to visit with me and one other fan at a lovely used book store in Connecticut…we chatted for at least an hour, and it was lovely!
I would like to meet Robin McKinley in real life some day…I'm awfully curious to see how her real life self compares to the self presented in her blog.

Is John Green at BEA this year? If so, I missed him when I looked at it. If he is, he would be at the top of my list.
And why doesn't Markus Zusak get out and about? Hmmm…..

I actually think I'd enjoy meeting the bloggers I follow just as much as some of the authors. But Mo Willems would definitely be on my list!

I met Shannon Hale last week. It was awesome. I had her sign ALL my books. And she was so nice.

I would love to meet Stephen King (does he ever do signings?), Barbara Kingsolver, Toni Morrison and Stieg Larsson (he's dead, so that would be a little tricky).
I've seen Jane Hamilton, Shannon Hale, Margaret Atwood and Jim Harrison. Shannon was definitely the nicest and most sincere!

I blogged today about a memorable author signing. As for authors I'd like to meet (either for signings or not) there are so many. If it wasn't so late right now, I might be able to narrow it down :-).
