Pull out a copy of The Dark is Rising, by Susan Cooper (and, if you’re like me, resolve to read the rest of the series. Soon… or sometime eventually.) get yourself something hot to drink (cocoa, with raspberry or mint for me, please), wrap yourself in something warm, build a fire, and stay in reading.
For an added bonus, check out Rhinoa’s post on her Yule celebration.
There are probably better ways to celebrate mid-winter, but I can’t think of them right now.
I need to read the rest of the series too! One of these days! >>Happy Midwinter!

For some reason I’m just not in the mood for it this year. Maybe because we’ve got about a foot of snow on the ground right now, and a wind chill of 15 below…

I heard about that, Julie; my parents are there freezing with you (along with my brother and his family from California!). Stay warm. π

Oh, you’re very much tempting me! I wish I had a copy on hand. Maybe in January. I would love to reread this series.

I loved this series when I was growing up. I should definitely re-read it (yet again!).

Thanks for the linkage! We were snowed in this weekend so much reading was done, except there were cherry chocolate chip cookies instead of cocoa.>>XO>Wendy Lane

Hey, I checked (most of) this series out from the library the other day. I’m hoping to get to them after my current read (Oracle Night by Paul Auster)
