  1. I don’t, really. I enjoy The Dark is Rising quite a bit, but that’s also the one I’ve read most recently, so that may be biasing my memory. I do remember not liking Greenwich very much. I think I liked the ones with Will in them the best.

  2. My favorite is The Grey King. And I am halfway through Dark, reading it on the days it takes place, and loving it once again! Except that scene in the church–it made me wonder why Cooper included it–surprising that she should feel compelled to make the statement she did. I never paid much attention to it before.

  3. I’d rank them: 1. Dark is Rising, 2. Grey King, 3. Greenwitch, 4. Silver on the Tree and 5. Over Sea, Under Stone.

Yeah, the church scene is interesting, isn’t it. I love her comment that the Dark is drawn there because it’s where men’s thoughts turn to good & evil.

Melissa, it’s so nice to visit again after my month-long hiatus. Hope you’re feeling well, and Happy New Year!

  4. Found the quote. It’s “any church of any religion is vulnerable to their attack, for places like this are where men give thought to matters of the Light and the Dark.”

  5. Julie! You’re back!

I, too, wondered about the scene in the church. I found it interesting that the pastor was totally unable to deal with and understand what was going on. That maybe, perhaps, pastors aren’t the ones who are there to deal with the Dark?

    I liked that quote, though.
