I’m a bit behind the times

But the June Bookworms Carnival is up over at Things Mean a Lot. It’s a delightful collection of fairy tales, some of which I’ve never heard of, let alone read. It’s one of the reasons I like carnivals — expanding TBR lists!

And check here for a two chances to win a free book from nymeth!

The next edition of the Bookworms Carnival is going to be hosted by Jenn at Mixed Metaphor. The theme is relationships (NOT Harlequin-type romances, Jenn says). To submit a post, email jenn at mixedmetaphor dot net until the 11th of July.

Another Monthly Plug

This time it’s for the Bookworms Carnival (the 11th edition; it’s been going on for almost a year!), this time, hosted by Scott at Scooter Chronicles. It’s urban fantasty, and there are a lot of great books. More for my TBR list.

Next month is Next month’s carnival will be hosted by Nymeth, and the theme is fairy tales. (Watch her site for details, coming soon.) The deadline for submissions is June 13th, and you can email Nymeth at untuneric at gmail dot com.

(As Yzma would say, “Which one? Which one?” Love Eartha Kitt in that.)

Three Days Gone

And I get behind… We had family — both my parents and Hubby’s — in town this weekend and on top of all that, I caught the flu on Thursday, so I’m just now coming out of my self-imposed blog hiatus (only three days, and there were more than 200 posts to read!) , and I discovered that Armenian Odar put up the March Bookworms Carnival. It’s a very lovely little carnival, go visit it, if you haven’t already.

Next month, the carnival will be held at In the Louvre, and the theme will be Latin American literature/authors. If you’d like to submit a post, email admin at inthelouvre dot org. Michelle has also set up an informational page for the April carnival.

Enjoy!

ACK!

I forgot it was March (how could I; It’s SPRING here!) and that the deadline for the Bookworm’s Carnival is TODAY. I need to go submit something…

Heres’s the info:
This month’s carnival is being hosted by Myrthe, and the theme is Women in Literature.

You can email your link to Myrthe at armenianodar [at] yahoo [dot] com.

Myrthe says:

It can be a review of a book by a female author, a review of a book in which the main character is female, it can be a non-review type post in which you discuss a topic relevant to the theme, a post with your favorite female authors or book-characters. Or something completely different.

Hope I’m not too late…

The Carnival of Awesomeness Totally Rocks (And other Announcements)

The February Bookworms Carnival is up over at Renay’s, and she totally and completely outdid herself. Go check it out. Be amazed. Worship the ground she walks on (well, maybe not that… but you could comment). As a brief reminder, next month’s carnival is being hosted by The Armenian Odar Reads. Her theme is Women in Literature, and you can send posts by March 14th to armenianodar at yahoo dot com.

I also did the drawing for the Expanding Horizons contest on Saturday (I should have taken a picture of C pulling a piece of paper out of a basket)… and the winner was BECKY. She chose the Whale Rider pack and Thin Mints (yum!). Congrats! (I thought about complaining about how few people participated — there was only 4! What the heck? — but I’ll refrain. Just barely.)

Just about Forgot

(Not on purpose…. really! Thanks, Dewey, for the reminder!)

The deadline to submit one of your posts for the Feburary Bookworms Carnival is this Friday, day after tomorrow. You can send submissions to Renay at thebookninja at gmail dot com.

The theme is The Geography of Make-Believe: a fantastic voyage through the magical, mythical, and mystical. If you click the theme link, you’ll be brought to an informative page prepared by Renay, this month’s host.

If you’ve never participated in a carnival before, this is a great time to do so, because Renay’s informative post is so very informative that you’ll feel as confident as a veteran carnival participant!

And looking forward to March. you might want to start thinking about next month’s carnival, hosted by The Armenian Odar Reads. Her theme is Women in Literature, and you can send posts to armenianodar at yahoo dot com.

Spreading the News

The December Bookworms Carnival is up over at A Striped Armchair. Eva is very clever, organizing the non-fiction books by the Dewey decimal system. Go take a look-see.

And just so you know, Becky is hosting the January 2008 edition.

The theme is Best Books of 2007. She writes:

There are several options. You could create your own “best of” list of books you’ve read and loved in the past year. You might want to make this a list with notes or commentary. But that isn’t a requirement necessarily. Or you could submit a book review of the book you think is THE BEST of the year. Your list can be general or specific. Your focus can be looking at all books or just books about pirates in space fighting spiders. 🙂

Your “best-of” list can include any book that you read for the first time in the year of 2007. It doesn’t have to be just the books with the 2007 release date. Though if that’s what you want to do, that’s fine too.

The deadline is January 11, and submissions for this carnival are by email. Email me at laney_po AT yahoo DOT com. Please use the word Bookworms AND/OR the word Carnival in your subject line.

I have to admit, I’ve been working on my “best of ” list for a few weeks now, just in anticipation of this carnival. I suppose that’s a bit obsessive-compulsive of me, but I couldn’t resist. I’ll have it up before the end of the year!

It’s Carnival time!

The November Bookworms Carnival edition is up at The Armenian Odar Reads. There’s original short stories, reviews of collections and six-word stories. Stay for a while and check out Myrthe’s blog, too, while you’re there.

The host for December is A Striped Armchair. The theme is non-fiction and the deadline for submission is December 14. You can email your submissions directly to Eva at astripedarmchair [at] gmail [dot] com.

Enjoy!
