This book by Deborah Ellis is a continuation of The Breadwinner, and it’s much much better. The plot’s pretty simple, again: Parvana and her father set off to find her mother and siblings. He dies, and this book is primarily about her experiences crossing Afghanistan. It’s a powerful read about friendship, the resilience of humankind (or children, if that’s how you prefer to look at it) and the senselessness and brutality of war. The ending this time is even more satisfying. You probably should read The Breadwinner first, but this is the superior book.

Parvana’s Journey is a great book. Anyone could read it and enjoy it. It really tells us a lot about the people in Afganistan and how their life is a lot harder than ours is.

This book was very good, and for some reason it seemed like there was no problem. Just the little problems a real boy might face. I thought this kept the book interesting to read. When I read this book I was very caught in to it. This author had some unique characteristics I really enjoyed reading. Throughout this book many characters were talking mean, tough, sad, sick, and the author made every one real just like a real kid would talk. It should have told more about his life after 6th grade and maybe even into high school and college. I would have liked to see if he ever changed. Overall I thought this was one of the better books I have read in my lifetime. I would recommend this book to any boy or girl who wants to learn about an odd kid and have a few laughs. The book was very entertaining and I really enjoyed it. It was definitely worth it to read. I thought this book was fantastic! Any person, young or old will be interested in this life story. I could really relate to how the boys around him would act and live their lives.> > This is an excellent book. Jerry Spinelli uses great humour to create the unique story of Zinkoff as he travels from first through six grades. It is a touching. I liked this book so much, I gave the book to my cousins, Sophie Mohammed and Alysha Virani. I liked this book because it showed that even if you’re not the most talented or popular you can make a difference. Like when he skipped Field Day the second time they won and when he won the soccer game he was the most unexpected guy to win the game. The lesson is that you don’t have to be the best at anything to make a big difference. You should read this book if you’re into funny books or adventures. Overall, it was a very good book. It was somewhat sad. I t really makes you think about life. I would recommend this book for anyone who would like some laughs and for people who are being called losers.>>Faiz Khimji>Age: 12>> PEACE!
